Single Parent Vacation
If you and yours (sic) kids have your hearts set on a cruise or all-inclusive resort, there are many ways to save. Be on the lookout for single-parent specials. Beaches Resorts in Jamaica xxx offer all-inclusive vacations that waive the single supplement and host adults-only cocktail parties for single parents. (Source: http://golf-package.blogrica.com)
Indeed, I quickly found at least two resorts that offer exactly that:
Cool! They waive the $75 single supplement for single parents. Offer is valid during summer and fall months.
Here's another one ...
Beaches waives as much as $190 per night, if you stay at least three nights. Michele Cheplic shares her experience in Beaches Resorts in her blog:
"Beaches Resorts" is offering a Single Parent Friendly promotion from August 18 to October 31, 2006. This is the fourth year that the resort is offering to waive the single supplement (of up to $180 per night) for single parents traveling with children. In addition, the resort will implement Single Parent Friendly on-site activities. These include kids' movie nights to allow parents to spend one-on-one time with their children during the day and partake in adult conversation and fellowship at night. Single parents face several challenges when it comes to vacationing with their kids – not least of which is keeping costs under control. And while the main goal of your trip is likely to spend quality time together as a family, you should be able to have some adult fun in the process sans children. The travel industry has recognized this growing segment of the population and as a result, there are more vacation options for single parents now than ever before.
