For many people, their first all inclusive trip is to the Caribbean (I know mine was!) xxx However, with so many cheap Caribbean vacations to choose from, how can you ever decide?

The author has some recommendations. I take it as my job here to help visualize the recommended destinations for first timers.

1. All Inclusive Puerto Rico Vacations

This is recommended because it is a relatively safe place, being a US territory. Furthermore, again being a US territory, people from New Jersey won't have passport problems here.

The all-inclusive option in Puerto Rico is limited. But there are plenty of accommodation options. If you know how to haggle, you can get for yourself a cheap Caribbean vacation in Puerto Rico.

2. The Cayman Islands All Inclusive Vacations

These islands lie smack in the middle of the Caribbean sea. It is well noted for its clear waters.

Cayman Islands has at least two all-inclusive resorts: one at the Seven Mile Beach and the other at the East End, which is the off-the-beaten-path.

3. Cheap Bahamas Vacations

Strictly speaking the Bahamas is no longer part of the Caribbean. It's part of the Atlantic Ocean. But is proximity to the Caribbean Sea makes it a vacation spot that is as great as the Caribbean destinations.

1. plan forward, make a decision not to go with the crowd
2. study the low cost packages offered by all inclusive Carribean resorts during the off season
3. book ahead of time with the intention of keeping away from hassles as much as possible (there are tricks for last-minute folks, but we discuss that elsewhere)
4. haggle for better offers from the agencies: 
1. be assertive about what you need and don't be pressured to accept items in the package that you don't need
2. tell the agent that you may need some items in the package for a few days only, not the whole duration (e.g. car services)
3. ask for perks in exchange for extended periods
4. bear in mind that super bundles are flexible about locations, lodgings, brands, etc. without modifying the price
5. beware of "bait-and-switch" tactics of agents: before committing any payment, make sure that the deal you want is the deal you get
6. understand the airline route, visualize how the trip would be like and make steps to avoid unpleasant layovers

Going on my honeymoon in Dec 2011 or Jan 2012. My husband wants to go on a cruise to the Caribbean (eastern) and I really want to go to an all-inclusive resort? I have asked this questions in the search box and everyone keeps saying a cruise is better for a honeymoon but why? Cruises, techincally, are not all-inclusive, you still have to pay for your drinks, excursions, and all the hidden luxuries? Why is an all-inclusive resort not a better choice? Thanks in advance.

How Cheap is Cheap in Caribbean Vacations?

Someone had mentioned "cheap in the Caribbean." Holiday travel is never cheap, just again matter of what you consider a good price. All Inclusive resorts are only for the Caribbean and Mexico. There are none in the US. The only thing that Disney would have if you stayed on-site is a meal plan which is expensive yes, but worth it considering the cost once you get there you do save money.
